Botanical Tradition

Long before laboratories, and long before medicine as we know it, coastal and northern peoples turned to the sea in their hardest seasons. When crops failed and famine crept inland, algae remained — resilient, abundant, and dense with the richness of the ocean itself.

In cold, resource-scarce regions, seaweed became a winter mainstay, passed down through generations who couldn't afford to be wrong about what kept a body going. It earned its place in the diet not through study, but through survival — one of the few foods concentrated enough in minerals to matter when little else was available.

Algae is one of the oldest lifeforms on Earth, present long before land plants evolved. There's something fitting in that lineage — a food old enough to have outlasted ice ages, still finding its way into a capsule today.
